Thanks for all the donations, support you have given me since May 2002
when beads of hope was formed. I had no idea what would happen this past
year and I am amazed! I
arrived with Guidetta from Italy to find out our teacher in Cuba Myra
had received 20th place in the country in design and her work is being
shown in Mexico City. Did we pick the right teacher!!!! We have been
invited to take Beads of Hope national. Teaching all around the country.
(Cuba) This is so exciting for me. Many things happened on our April
trip..we were invited by the president of art affairs in Cuba to their
national art show FIART Dec 21-27 in Havana. Usually this is very hard
to get into juried etc. but they are very impressed how are beading
classes have been so popular. We had a large donation of beautiful
leather donated by Jeri Rice in Seattle, we made choker earring
bracelets ER and Belts embellished with beads. They turn out really
nice. If I can make one persons life easier Beads of Hope will be a
sucess. Associated Press in Havana came to our school and took many
pictures and wrote a story about our journey. All of you are part of
this and I thank you. Remember next time you are beading and have any
leftovers put them in a little envelope and mail to us. Checks are
appreciated too. We have a new program we are working on in the US we
will tell you about it later.
